Abstract

In this article I will examine the relationship between epistemology and learning theory exemplified in a description of differences and similarities between Kant's conceptions and Dewey’s. The article presents a direct meeting between the elements in each theoretical system. This interaction between the opposite positions and opportunities for practical and methodological correspondences will then be discussed, based on considerations on the relationship between epistemology and learning theory. Finally, the partial correlation between learning theory and epistemology will be related to the debate concerning contemporary school.
